Information
2004.03.29 - First Model Release
After success on 1st Generation Vino with many positive feedbacks
from female riders, also Japanese domestic market has 400,000 more
units sales yearly on scooters which under 50cc (Level-1 Licence),
YAMAHA Motor
Co., Ltd. (Japan) released this brand new 2nd
Generation Vino. A new design 4-Stroke Liquid-Cooled engine, cute
style with even rounder shape, curvaceous panels and high quality
finishing, design and manufactured by YMT
(YAMAHA Motor Taiwan).
The 3-Valves engine (2 intake, 1 exhaust) provide more torque, special
ellipse burning room for more power and fewer emissions, liquid-cooled
engine in one place design makes service easy. Anti-theft rear wheel
lock feature prevents tampering with the ignition switch and locks
the rear wheel, making it harder to move the unit after it’s
parked. Super Cute styled ball shape headlight and turn signal housings,
round speedometer with integrated fuel gauge, light weight body design
so female riders could handle easily.
Wayne's Opinion
2006.06.30 - Vancouver, CANADA
We like New Vino 4-Stroke more than HONDA Metro / JAZZ, SYM Mio, or
KYMCO Agility / Vitality 50, because it's so cute! Cute girl looks
even cuter while riding it... Light weight, lower seat height, anti-theft
lock, all designs make you easier to handle this babe. The engine
is more powerful with 3-Valve in it, you also have chance to upgrade
70cc cylinder and different performance pipe, change CDI for higher
rpm and faster speed.
Unfortunately the cute stuffs disappeared on North America version
because the DOT requirements, engine also has restrictions. We tested
ride New Vino 4-Stroke in Taiwan, *it
seems powerful as some 2-Stroke stock 50cc scooters, but Canadian
model's speed is not that great when we were *testing
it.
The engine design is similar with HONDA Crea SCOOPY / Metro / JAZZ,
small radiator right beside exhaust pipe with fan to force the engine
cool down, but YAMAHA keeps engine crankcase in traditional way, so
we can upgrade to 70cc ceramics cylinder. The upgrades
are: cylinder, transmission, exhaust, carburetor, CDI, shock, and
light... etc., you can even swap to Japanese
Light Kit or whole panels to different happy colors! The average
Retail Price for this scooter in North America should be around USD
$1,700 ~ $1,850 plus applicable taxes only.
See FAQ section for more info about this
model.
* The result
is based on our demo model, depending on scooter, rider and road's
conditions, result may very.
